Durham College: Welder Fitter Program Graduated with Honours

Lincoln Electric Motorsports Welding Program, Cleveland Ohio

I have been an auto enthusiast for as long as I can remember. I can thank my father, Frank Rinaldi for introducing me to the “car world.” He has taught me the skills necessary to be successful in this business and in life. Not only has he been a great father, but also an incredible mentor.

At the age of 16, I got my first car, a 69 Chevelle. At the same time, I was introduced to drag racing and I was able to run 10.30 ET’s with an 85 Camaro. I soon graduated to a Top Dragster with a 615 CI Engine that ran reliable 7.70 ET’s. It was from my experience racing that led to my passion of building cars.

With a great deal of determination and a love for cars, I decided to enrol myself at Durham College for the Welder Fitter Program. It was there that I gained the knowledge and hands on skills needed to pursue my dream. I graduated that program with honours in 2001.

After college, I worked in various fab shops welding and also worked as a welder in the nuclear industry. I was building cars on the side and realized I was unhappy with my daytime work, so I decided it was time to really follow my dreams of building cars fulltime. I found a job in a hotrod shop and instantly new that this was what I wanted to do as a career. It was there that I met my future business partner, Scott Forbes and worked side by side for four years. Our team work and drive for excellence was apparent instantly and we forged a team which worked more efficiently and with a higher standard of quality. Scott and I founded Hitman Hotrods in 2005, a company which is based on quality and excellence.

A special thanks to those family and friends who have supported me and have helped make Hitman Hotrods Inc. what it is today!

I can honestly say that I do not remember a single day with out some form of Hot Rod in my life. As a third generation automotive technician, my father Leslie introduced me to Hotrods and Customs before I could walk. I spent most of my youth tagging along with dad as he and his friends scoured the local wrecking yards and built their Hot Rods.

In high school, I took courses such as mechanical drafting which has proven to be very useful. I graduated with honours in grade 11 and 12 auto mechanics. After High school, I pursued a career in Auto mechanics. I was very fortunate to work with some very skilled Technicians and to have employers who believed in providing some of the finest training available.

I have owned several cars since the age of 14 ranging from mustangs, to old trucks but never was happy until I finally bought my 1966 Pontiac Acadian Canso Sport Deluxe. I spent 5 years restoring it to the condition it is in currently. The car has won many awards including several at Performance World Custom Car Show in Toronto and Super Chevy shows.

After twelve years in the trade, I took on a job that would allow me to build cars full time. In 2003, I met someone who had the same values for quality and excellence as I had. And two years later Jason Rinaldi and I formed Hitman Hotrods Inc.
