The vega will be sporting Wilwood brakes front and rear. This will ensure safe stopping at speeds over 150MPH.

Strange 40 spline axles and 5/8" studs are a needed with this amout of power.

All together this is a bullet proof differential built entirely inhouse at Hitman Hotrods.

With this kind of gap between the windshield and the previous owners attemp at building a cowl, we decided to cut it all out and start from scratch. Watch how we do it.

First we formed a lower channed that had a tight tolerance to the lower windshield. Next we fixtured it up so that it wouldn't move.

Next we started to build the firewall. We are using raised steps in the firewall rather than the tipical race car bead work. This is a cosmetic preferance.

The funny car cage is required for the SFI chassis spec the chassis was built for. This is a mild steel chassis that may not be as light nore will it certify any quicker than 7.50 ET but as a real street car this chassis will servive many miles of driving and abuse.

The next few photos show the chassis before it left for blasting. We did this because the chassis will eventually be welded to the chassis and we wanted to get it clean and in vinyl wash before the body went back on.

Here is the chassis ready for the body and tin work.

Because this car is going to be street driven it is going to need a substantial exhaust to keep it quite. The only pedal that is going to be floor mounted is the clutch which is shown here in these two pictures.
